Kahat Kabir

A 3-day Residential Musical Satsang Retreat.

In the rush of city life, we rarely pause to truly listen — to ourselves, to one another, to the timeless wisdom of the saints.

From 3–5 April 2025, we gather in Dehradun for a Satsang retreat in the Himalayan foothills — a space where teachings are not just heard but lived, where silence is honoured, music becomes prayer, and community becomes the path.

Three days of shared reflection, satsangs, and heartfelt dialogue.
A circle where wisdom is remembered and connection is felt.

Join us in Dehradun.

What Awaits You

Essence of a Satsang Retreat

A Satsang Retreat is a mindful pause from the rush of daily life—a space to return to ourselves. सत्संग (Satsang) means “to be in the company of truth,” found not just in philosophy but in the lived experiences of saints and sufis. The retreat creates a simple, grounded environment where we listen, reflect, sing, sit in silence, and reconnect with the clarity often buried under noise. It is not an escape, but a way to return to life with presence, alignment, and inner spaciousness.

This time, the sangat takes place near the sea at Sharanam, a space that nurtures reflection, simplicity, and a sense of calm community.

At the Heart: Vani & Music

At the nucleus of this retreat lies vani and music. Our artists are the main Sutradhars of the experience, carrying forward centuries-old lineages of wisdom through song. Participants encounter this wisdom not as mere words, but as a living, resonant practice. Through their rhythms, melodies, and stories, these artists open the heart naturally, making the retreat a deeply immersive and transformative experience.

A Sanctuary for Study & Community

Tarab Ling is a serene institute nestled in the Himalayan foothills, designed for contemplative study, shared living, and inner exploration. Its simple, eco-conscious infrastructure encourages mindful community life — with shared spaces, open courtyards, and an atmosphere of quiet focus.

More than a venue, Tarab Ling is a living learning environment where peace, dialogue, and spiritual inquiry naturally unfold.

Waves of goodbye hugs!

As the final morning unfolds, there’s a quiet sense of completion in the air. Some sit in silent reflection, eyes soft with gratitude. Others move gently between final conversations, their voices low and heartfelt. There are long, lingering hugs—warm embraces that say more than words ever could.
