How about walking through the sand and creating out mark forever? How about riding a bike amidst sand-dunes? How about listening to Sufi music and Bhajan amidst desert surroundings? How about being part of nature and loving our existence. How about forgetting our worldly problems and surrendering ourselves to the almighty, the ultimate spirit? How about being face to face with those who have devoted their lives towards sufi-music, spirituality, folk music, and fakiri. How about listening to Gavra Devi, Jamali Bai, Mavji Bai, Shivji and Badri and singing with them. I am talking about the second Rajasthan Kabir Yatra, which took place from 11 to 16 November.
Rajasthan Kabir Yatra
It is a mystical experience to eat Bajri Roti with vegetables like Kachariya, Kakadiya, Guar Fali amidst Thar Desert. Its an amazing experience to immerse in spiritual music amidst moon-lit nights. It’s an amazing experience to pass nights watching the moon while being in sandy desert. Kabir Yatra is a journey to India’s traditions. It is a journey to revive the lost civilization within ourselves. As you dwell deep into this, you forget the present day materialism. This is the journey to enable your transformation into your true self.
The real joy of being in desert places can come only if you stay for at least 4-5 days. The first day is always distasteful – as you find yourself deprived of all modern amenities. You search for your favorite concrete jungle, buildings, suited executives, and the corporate culture but you find all these missing here. Soon you start feeling the dust and as you inhale the nature’s freshness, soon you start feeling an urge to return back to your AC Chamber in your loving office. However, stay on, another two days will completely change you. The desert will grip you and rob you of all your western attires. By the end of the fifth day, you will find yourself immersed in the sand-desert beyond your imagination.
Kabir, Meera, Chaitnya, Rahim and Surdas create a new world if you listen to them in perfect surrounding like that of Thar Desert. It is the aura of Thar Desert that will give the perfect stage for spiritual hymns. In the financial capital of Mumbai, its perfect to talk about money and equity, similarly in the Thar Desert, its perfect to talk about spiritualism. It is a natural instinct to adapt ourselves to our situation and surrounding. The place where great saint Kapil practiced meditation over 3500 years ago, is now the place, where Kabir Yatri discourse on life and beyond. The place where great Jain Saints Acharya Tulsi and Acharya Mahapragya spread spiritualism, is the place where Pandit Madhup Mudgal and Prahlad Singh Tipanya spread Philosophy of love, care and devotion. Occasions like these enable people to revive the divinity inside and revisit their goals for life.
